Welcome to ASLCartoons!
A small game art studio with a big love for visual storytelling in games.
Who we are
ASLCartoons is a tiny design team focused on 2D game art. We work with indie developers, solo creators, and small studios who care about style and character just as much as gameplay. Our background is in animation, game design, and illustration – and we’ve been drawing weird characters and building interactive worlds since the early 2010s.
What we do
We help game teams bring their ideas to life visually, from early sketches to final assets. Here’s what we usually work on:
- 2D characters and creature design
- Game environments and tilesets
- User interface and HUD elements
- Looping animations and VFX
- Style guides and asset polish
- Visuals for prototypes and vertical slices
We focus on clarity, personality, and strong color direction. Whether you’re working on a pixel art farming sim or a moody platformer with hand-drawn graphics, we adapt our work to match the tone of your game — not the other way around.
Our approach
We stay small on purpose. That means we can work closely with your team, adjust quickly, and focus more on the creative side than on overhead and process. Most of our clients come back to us not just because they like the art, but because we treat their game like something we’d want to play ourselves.
We don’t outsource. We don’t do template work. We treat every project like a custom piece.
Why “ASLCartoons”?
It started as a random folder name. We kept it. Over time, it became a kind of reminder to keep things loose, simple, and fun. That’s still how we like to work today.
Let’s work together
If you’re looking for game art that feels personal and a team that actually plays games, reach out. You can check out our work or get in touch — we’re always open to talking about new ideas.

Crafting Iconic Skins for Counter-Strike – A Designer’s Journey and Tactical Guide
In Counter-Strike, a skin is more than a texture—it’s a story. A well-designed AK-47 skin can evoke nostalgia, fear, or even dark humor (see: “Neon Revolution”). Over my six years at Valve, I contributed to CS:GO and CS2’s skin ecosystem, learning that success hinges on balancing artistry, technical constraints, and the unspoken psychology of players. This article breaks down my process, mistakes, and hard-won lessons for aspiring designers.
What began as cosmetic flair quickly evolved into a cultural and economic force. The value of skins now extends far beyond aesthetics—many designs fuel entire secondary markets, from trading hubs to skin-based betting platforms. With the rise of csgo gambling, the pressure to create skins that feel rare, desirable, and emotionally charged has only intensified. A simple color shift or subtle motif can now influence market value or fuel meme status, making skin design a craft shaped as much by game feel as by speculative hype.
